You are transported by the Goa villa's surroundings and bustling environment. The interior design of the 4-bedroom mansion was undoubtedly inspired by a deep sense of nostalgia and emotion. We wanted to bring back memories of carefree times spent with loved ones on breezy, sun-filled vacations in far-off places.
The house's heritage-infused DNA served as our inspiration, and we investigated the path of neo-vintage design to start a dialogue between the past and present. This unfinished stone floor transforms into many shapes and arrangements throughout the house plan. The portals and apertures throughout the latter's construction are defined rhythmically by recurrent arches.
The living room has a timeless beauty that is rooted in villa bardez’s central section. The exterior of the house is dotted with a variety of traditional accordion doors and arched windows that frame glimpses of the verdant yard and outdoor patio. This entire area is characterized by arched windows, golden chandeliers, and textured decorations. The lavishly designed furniture silhouettes evoke memories of opulent homes from a bygone period with their larger proportions. A conversation area is created with the sofa, tufted armchairs surrounding the circular jute rug, and monolithic coffee table.
The distressed wood table with its sculpted turned legs sits in the north-east light that pours in from the skylight over the ceiling. The upholstered, curved chairs bring together the old and the new. The stone flooring takes on a chequered shape here, varying from a deeper beige to an ivory tone. The floors turn into the decadent black Kadappa stone that the outdoor lounge shares its threshold with, making materiality a subliminal part of the expression of the indoor-outdoor life. The stairway runs between the two floors of the house and is steeped in character with the textured stone flooring that changes over into greige oak floors that wrap the treads, risers and climb up the walls to give an old-school, panelled look. Two single beds have encasing headboards that mark the resting space along with the antique style wood nightstands.
