The homeowners have a background of growing up in spacious bungalows in Lucknow. Taking inspiration from that, we have created our own unique interpretation of this design philosophy by combining elements of spatial architecture and minimalism to create large open spaces. One of the homeowners' priorities was to ensure that the new home is fully vastu compliant. The focus was on how one moves through the home and how each space connects with the others. Upon entering from the North Eastern verandah, a large wooden log serves as a partition, providing privacy to the open space and separating it from the breakfast area.
The main door leads to an entrance lobby with a double-curved teak wood partition, offering glimpses of the courtyard. All public areas on the ground floor, such as the living room, dining room, guest room, kitchen, study, entertainment area, and lounge, are connected to the courtyard. The courtyard features covered and motorized wooden louvres, which protect the house from harsh weather conditions like heavy rains. The living room, with its high ceilings, is flooded with natural light. The furniture's subtle shades of upholstery accentuate the statement installation on the wall.
The dining area offers a stunning view of the verandah. The use of dark colors in the dining room furniture creates a bold yet elegant atmosphere. The kitchen is designed with a minimalist approach, and the view from the kitchen speaks for itself. Moving on to the master bedroom, the subtle hues and high ceilings continue to create a serene ambiance. The study, with its beautiful view, is adorned with wood and furnished impeccably, with a touch of navy blue. The lounge follows a grey monochromatic theme, with a striking blue table as the centerpiece. The carpet and artwork in this room also adhere to the grey monochromatic theme.
