Hajgoli is a quaint sleepy village on the outskirts of Kolhapur, where our client wanted to build a Home for his family. The brief was clear; He wanted a home that stands out amidst the existing village houses. The site provided beautiful vistas of the fields, Mountains and the calm forest. The site is surrounded by Cashew, Mango, Bajra and cornfields that almost enter the house. The architectural concept of this house came from creating outward looking frames at every direction savoring in the beauty of nature around. The Extended balconies provide much needed shield during the merciless rains of Kolhapur, Protects from the extreme temperatures in summers as well as winter. These framed portals form a beautiful language to the house, enhance the outdoor and optimize the living experience indoors. The beautiful form finished masses cantilever over the fields creating an extraordinary experience. We at Studio MAT focus on creating sustainable architecture to fit beautifully in its surroundings.
