Clean lines, textured materials and a grayscale palette transform a 4 bedroom Lucknow apartment into a soothing urban oasis. Designed for a wildlife photographer the 2300-square-foot 4-BHK is privileged with wide views from every room, and the interior palette ensures that the outdoors remain the hero of every space.
The design philosophy of the living room is set by the center table, which is a large, flat, horizontal monolith providing ample space for movement. In contrast, the sofas are plush and cozy, resembling a stack of cushions. Adjacent to the living room window is a separate lounge area, serving as an informal gathering spot for the family. This space is furnished with lounge chairs, a sculptural concrete-finish center table, and a side table. One side of the lounge offers a clear view of the sea, while the opposite side features a large round mirror reflecting the same view.
A sleek black bar unit marks the start of the dining area, distinct from the living room which is predominantly furnished in wood. The dining table, serving as the focal point, features a minimalist design with a herringbone pattern. An artfully crafted wall sculpture adds a serene touch to the space, designed to evoke a sense of tranquility and contemplation. The intention was to keep it somewhat abstract, allowing the viewer to ponder its meaning while maintaining a peaceful ambiance desired by the client.
The design visualization aims to seamlessly blend the house with its natural surroundings, allowing the surroundings to take center stage rather than the house overpowering them.
The child's bedroom deviates from the grayscale palette of the rest of the apartment, featuring subtle bursts of muted colors. A black and white sports-themed wallpaper is paired with a light, English blue wall paint and various wood tones. The dresser drawers introduce another splash of color with their polished brown, mustard, blue, and yellow hues.
The house exudes a sense of understated elegance, blending simplicity with intricate details to create a harmonious balance between functionality and beauty. Balancing between traditional charm and modern sophistication, this apartment showcases the innovative design of contemporary Indian architecture, offering a serene and luxurious living space.
